Program Notes

Sept. 11 Senior Center Expo demonstration. We have two tables and will demonstrate carving from 1 to 7 p.m. We can also sell our carvings if we wish. Need your help, even for an hour. Sign up at the Sept. 10 meeting.

Oct. 8 Carving a Santa. Design and carve your own Santa with elements suggested by Lee. Creative and fun!

Oct. 13 Catch Up Day. Catch Up Days are an opportunity for interested members to bring unfinished carvings and obtain help from instructors to finish the carvings. Look for us at a picnic shelter at Lake Ella. Come and go as you please between 9 and 4.

November and December - Club display in the Senior Center secure cabinets. Each member is expected to contribute a carving, but we'll take more. The Senior Center is encouraging us to have some carvings for sale. Carvings will be returned at the Jan. 7th meeting.

Nov. 26 Carving a Donkey Ornament. We carved an elephant ornament around the time of the last election, so now it's time to carve a donkey ornament in basswood. The cutout is based on a Harold Enlow pattern.

Dec. 17 Annual Holiday Party. Everybody brings something to eat or drink (sign up at the Dec. 3 meeting). Bring a friend. Enjoy each other's company. Carve a little.

Jan. 14 Painting Carvings. Adelle will give tips and suggestions for painting carvings. Valuable for both beginning and experienced carvers.

Spring Workshops. Seats are limited. Advance sign up is required. If more than the limit (Feb. 15, Apr. 12) want to sign up, we will have a lottery with those not getting the guaranteed seats going on the waiting list. Be present at the Sept. 10 meeting for first chance to obtain a seat.

Club T-Shirts For Sale

Four of the new dark green t-shirts are available for $14 each. Sizes: 1 S, 3 L, 1 XXL. One of the blue t-shirts, XXL, remains for $12. Purchase at a club meeting. When these are gone, we have no more for sale.
