Program Notes

September 21: Carve Santa going down the chimney head first — and stuck! About 4 inches high. Cutouts $2 each.

October 3: Saturday Workshop at Lake Ella, 9 to 4. Sign up with Lynn Francis and indicate choice of project. Instruction fee – $10. Polar bear snowman cutout – $5; cypress knees priced by size – $8 to $35.

October 12: Ned Margargee will present a program on Celtic Spoons: history, meanings of symbols, and many different styles.

October 24: "Catch Up" Day at Lake Ella in a picnic shelter from 9 to 4. Bring any unfinished carvings or those you would like directions for. Bring your own chair and small table, or a covering for the picnic table. No sign–up. No fee. Just come! Instructors will be there.

November 7: Forget H1N1! Help spread wood carving fever by taking part in the demonstration at Fall Farm Days at the Museum. Probably 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

November 16: Carve a new Christmas ornament – a face in a quarter moon. Cutouts $2 each.

December 21: Holiday party. Bring something to eat or drink, a spouse or friend, and let's enjoy the season.

Weekend Workshops

Howard Suzuki, author of Carving Aquatic Animals, with be our guest instructor February 5, 6, and 7. The project will be your choice from among the pattems Howard has available. The fee of $65 per person (minimum 10, maximum 14) includes one cutout and pattern, a support piece if needed, and a base. This is a great deal, particularly since we all do not have to carve the same pattem!

Sign up for the workshop with vice-president Lynn Francis and indicate your choice of aquatic animal. We will have Howard's book available for you to check out the possible carvings. In addition to the cutout you order, Howard will have several other cutouts and patterns available for purchase.
