Program Notes

April 16. Candle Ornament. Lance has designed a small candle with a clip attached that can be placed on a tree. A one night carving.

May 21. Chip Carved Crosses. Barbara has done 8 chip carved cross patterns from a recent woodcarving magazine. You may choose which pattern(s) you want to carve. The cutouts need to be sanded in advance of May 21. You can purchase the cutouts ($1 each) at the May 7 or 14 meeting to sand before May 21. If you do not have a chip carving knife, a detail knife will work fine. We will practice the cuts in basswood scraps before doing the actual carving.

Summer Schedule. There are three Mondays when the Senior Center is closed for holidays or maintenance, and four other Mondays when we will not meet. Keep this meeting schedule from this newsletter. We resume our weekly meeting schedule after Labor Day in September.
