Weekend Workshop

Marty Leenhouts will be here Feb. 13-14 to teach beginning chip carving. This is a very old and decorative form of carving that is fairly easy to learn. It is based in geometric shapes and precise cuts. Marty has an excellent teaching technique and you will learn quickly.

The cost of the two day workshop is $125. That fee includes all the materials needed for the carving project you will complete in the workshop. If you do not have a chip carving knife you can use one of Marty's. He will have chip carving knives, all kinds of boards, and his book, Chip Carving Essentials, for sale.

Check his website: mychipcarving.com.

Sign-up for the workshop will begin on Dec. 7. The instruction fee of $125 for the two day workshop is due on Jan 25. The instruction fee is paid to the club and it writes one check to the instructor. Each student is responsible for paying Marty directly for other materials not included in the fee.

The club can provide partial scholarships—talk with Adelle to apply.
